"Buster" - Special Needs
Meet "Buster," a gregarious 2-3 year old Shepherd/Akita mix that was left in the middle of the night in a pen outside of a large shelter. It was evident when he was found why...his back legs were paralyzed. Was he hit by a car? No one knows. FOCAS was contacted to ask for Angel Fund assistance for medical treatment, which it provided. Buster underwent tests, medical evaluations and 3 weeks of physical therapy. Amid all the poking, prodding, pulling and twisting of his limbs, Buster remained his friendly self and a good patient. You see, Buster seems to adore people companionship. The doctors and staff at the hospital love him. He loves them right back; especially when he gets belly rubs. Buster can put weight on his back legs, if walked in a sling by two people, but he cannot walk unassisted. Thankfully, he has full control over his eliminations, and waits patiently for walks that allow him to “do his business” outside like other dogs. The doctors seem to think Buster would do splendidly with a cart. So, FOCAS is having a special set of “wheelies” made especially for him. You can just see how much he wants to romp and participate in life. He needs a companion…a home ….that will give him that chance. Could that companion be YOU? (We believe Buster would do best in a home without other pets or young children.) ADOPTED to a "forever home" along with a Brand New Cart to keep him mobile!!!
Wanda & Wendy
Meet two adorable sisters, "Wanda and Wendy." They were born on May 21st, 2007 and bonded together so well, that one cries with out the other. Would be really nice if they could find a home as a pair. They so much look alike..they could be twins. We cannot tell who is who! But both are extremely affectionate kittens. They like to cuddle and to be pet. ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
Brett
Meet "Brett." she is such a wonderful kitten!! She doesn't know she has special needs. What makes Brett special is that she was born with a hole in her heart, which is inoperable. But that doesn't stop her. She's very active. Brett is asymptomatic and to keep her that way she takes once a day in her food a few drops of medication. And she takes it well! The medications costs about $12/per month...about 40 cents a day. Brett is a very sweet kitten. Purrs instantly. Loves to play with foil balls. She will always tell you when she wants to play because she comes up to you and taps your hand or feet with her paw until you pay attention! She's an absolute love and will be great in any home that isn't too active. ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
"Seymour" & "Sylvia"
Meet "Seymour," 4.5 months old Tabby, and his play mate "Sylvia," 5.5 months old. Both are a little shy at first, but will warm up quickly as soon as you pet or hold them. Both are up to date on age appropriate shots and spayed/neutered. ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
"Oreo"

Also, she is a petite with very cute, expressive little face. Oreo is spayed and up-to-date on age appropriate shots. ADOPTED to a "forever" home.

Meet "Ladybug." She is the most adorable, sweetest, playful kitten EVER! She was born around May 6, 2007. Ladybug was found outside all by herself, but made it safely and soundly to her foster home. Ladybug still needs some growing up to do, so she will be ready for adoption probably by mid July. She's a very happy little girl! ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
"Arnie"
Meet Arnie, the tabby; he is the talker in the group - announces everything that goes on. Then there is Scooter, black and white on the left with his polydactyl paws and his sister Abby next to him. Scooter is the "Big Brother" of the crew. And last is Dee, showing off her poly toes and belly for the camera. She is my cuddler and follows me every where. They will be ready for adoption on or about May 25th. ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
Scooter & Abby
Dee
"Fiona"
Meet "Fiona." This striking young lady was born in October 2006. We believe she's going to be a very petite cat. She's an absolutely gorgeous classic "bulls-eye" tabby. Her markings give her a truly exotic and unique look, and she knows it! Fiona is an independent kitty who should be fine as an only pet, or with one easy going companion cat. But please, no multi-pet household for her! If you like a cat who likes to be pet but NOT held Fiona could be the perfect cat for you. ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
"Gizmo"
Meet "Gizmo." Gizmo is a 7 year old DECLAWED male. He was born July 6, 1999. This neutered, inside-only cat is sweet and loving. He loves to be pet all over and will nudge your hand to get you to pet him. He will curl up on your lap while you're in bed just to be near you. If you scratch behind his ears while he's standing he will do a flip so you can pet him on his belly. Gizmo loves to play fetch with his toy mouse or a chewy stick. He likes to hide under the sheets and covers. However, loud noises or loud people scare him, and he'll run and hide. Gizmo was separated from his brother cat when he moved to his current home in October, 2006 because the owner's new wife (a none cat lover) decided she wanted the cats out of the house. The current owner adores Gizmo but has discovered that she and her daughter are allergic to him. Gizmo is a very social cat and loves the attention of people. He's also befriended a bunny in his new home so he should do well in a home with other animals. If you have room in your heart and your home for a special cat, won't you consider adopting Gizmo? ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
Tiger Kittens
Meet the most adorable look alike siblings ever! Spot, Ralph, Jaime, Fresca and Katie were born on February 5th, 2007. Each one of these darlings is sweet, playful and very friendly. They love to sit on your lap and cuddle (once they're done playing, of course). These little sweethearts will be ready for adoption by the end of April. (All adopted to a "forever" home..ecxept Katie.)
"Jack" and "Jill"
Meet "Jack" and "Jill." Jack and Jill are 4.5 month old brother and sister. They are shy and timid kittens around new people or new surroundings, but they are very affectionate with their foster parents. They would need to go to a quiet and understanding home, that will give them some time to warm up. Once loved and secure, they will give you double the love. Jack and Jill are neutered/spayed and up-to-date on age appropriate shots. (Jack has been adopted to a "forever home.")
"Velcro"
Meet "Velcro." A young tabby and white male domestic short hair wandered into a couple's home one afternoon and decided they were worthy of adopting him. Unfortunately, the couple's landlord had other ideas. That's when the couple contacted FOCAS for assistance in finding him a forever home. They told us they named this sweet boy Velcro because he stuck to them wherever they went in the apartment. He was either by their side or sitting in a lap. He purred when they paid him even the slightest bit of attention. He's playful, loves to be pet under his chin, and will even accept tummy rubs, being picked up and carried. FOCAS had Velcro neutered, gave him his shots, and tested him for felv/fiv. Now all we need to do is find this deserving boy a home. Could that home be yours? ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
Charlie & Cookie
Meet "Charlie" and "Cookie." This adorable brother and sister were born on February 19, 2007. Their mom did a splendid job raising them. She is spayed and up-to-date on age appropriate shots. ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
"Dennis" & "Mandy"
Meet "Dennis" and "Mandy." They are siblings .... absolutely an adorable, super sweet, and friendly pair. They were born on Feb. 26, 2007. They do everything together, play, eat, sleep, etc. therefore they should be adopted together. Their foster mom said: "I wish all my fosters were so well behaved." These two are sweethearts and the ultimate lap kitties. Love them!!! ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
"Shakespeare"
Meet "Shakespeare" (Orange Tabby). Shakespeare was the most vocal of his litter (hence is name), and continues to be a very talkative kitten. He is extremely playful and will do well in any home. For all of his playfulness, he is quite gentle. He loves to make eye contact with his expressive, handsome face. Shakespeare is neutered and up-to-date on age appropriate shots. ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
"Bobby"
Meet "Bobby" .... What a sweetheart! This handsome silver tabby is the ultimate lap cat. He is a very lovable and very content kitty that will do great in almost any household. He is now 5 months old and has been raised by a volunteer since he was a tiny baby of 5 days old. Bobby is playful, cuddly and a true joy! He loves to chase toy mice and he loves to explore. Bobby's brother and sister have been adopted and now it's Bobby's turn to find a loving, forever owner to adopt him. Please come to meet him at our next adoption day! He is neutered and up-to-date on age appropriate shots. ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
"Rocky"
Meet "Rocky." Rocky is 6.5 month old kitten. Rocky got his name because his foster mom found him when he was about 3 weeks old in a boat screaming his little head off. We do not know what happened to his mommy. He got off to a rocky start and also rose up to the challenge for survival. He is very loving kitty. If you tap your fingers on the floor he will stop what ever he is doing to bring himself to be pet. He deserves to be loved, he will give much love in return. Rocky is neutered and up-to-date on age appropriate shots. ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
"Ms. Kitty" & Boys
Meet 4 adorable litter mates: Ms. Kitty (brown tabby and only girl) and her three brothers Bryce, Kriss and Robert. They were born on December 24, 2006, were home nurtured and are very sweet, friendly and playful kittens. The entire bunch is very well behaved (if one could apply that to kittens, of course). Ms. Kitty is more of the cuddler, her brothers are...."got to play, play, lets go check this out, play some more, common sis, wow, look at this" .....crew. They will be ready for adoption mid of March and will be spayed/neutered and up-to-date on age appropriate shots. ADOPTED to "forever" homes.
"Panda"
Meet "Panda," a 9 month old named by his foster guardian because she thinks he looks like a Panda Bear. He loves to be picked up and have his head scratched. Panda is very gentle and enjoys peace and tranquility. He will sit on your lap for a bit but his favorite spot in the house is a window seat where he can ponder the world around him. He gets along with other cats. Panda is neutered and up to date on age appropriate shots. ADOPTED for a "forever" home.
"Sam"
Meet "Sam" a 7 month old kitten whose lush gray fur makes him look like a Russian Blue. He is active. Loves to snuggle and sleep on your bed with you. He would fit well into almost any family, even with children. Sam is neutered and up-to-date on age appropriate shots. ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
"Jet"
Meet "Jet." Jet is a 6 month old darling male kitten with expressive eyes and lots of energy. The picture does not show what a handsome fellow he really is. He looks like solid black kitty at first, but he is really a chocolate tabby! Unbelievably gorgeous! Jet is very active and very busy kitten. He can play rough, so a house without small children will be the best for him. Jet was home nurtured by a volunteer from the time he was about 1 week old and still drinking from a bottle! His character is strong and he was a tough little guy even as his eyes and ears were only just opening up. As he is maturing, Jet is "mellowing", but for now he's simply got lots to do and see and he needs a guardian that will love him, as well as entertain his need for fun! Once he's used up some energy by playing, especially by chasing toy mice which he loves, Jet is quite interested in being pet and loved. He'll even come over and rub on your leg to let you know he's looking for some affection. Jet is a sweet boy who needs a loving forever home. He would probably do well in a house with another cat or even with a dog. Won't you come to meet him? Jet is neutered and up-to-date on age appropriate shots. ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
"Tammy" & "Lou" (her brother)
Meet "Tammy" & "Lou," a darling sister and brother. A WARNING label should come with these 5 week old siblings: CAUTION..can melt hearts! Their mama was killed by a car. "Leslie"
Meet “Leslie,” a 3.5 mo old kitten. Leslie is cute as a button, but a shy little kitten. She is learning to trust people and making progress every day! With TLC, patience and a bit of time, she will come out of her shell and will show her sweet personality. Leslie absolutely adores other cats! It is very cute to see her trying to impress them with funny antics. She would be perfect as a new companion for someone's pet. She likes to play and be pet.Her first encounter with people was not a pleasant one that is why Leslie is taking her time to adjust to new people and new surroundings. Would you open your heart and your home to this very deserving a chance kitten? Leslie is spayed and up-to-date on age appropriate shots. ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
"Jade & Jet"
Jade (on the right) is a bit shy. She loves to be pet once she gets to know you. Identical to her brother Jet(adopted to a "forever" home), she loves to play with the cat teaser, but can be a bit reserved when she interacts with people when she plays. Jade tolerates small children but is not the type of young cat to be held and cuddled by "little ones." Jade is 10 months old and stunningly beautiful. She would do best in a home with another cat for companionship. Jade has been spayed and is up-to-date on shots. She tested "negative" for Feline Aids and Leukemia. ADOPTED to a "forever" home.

Meet "Larkin." Larkin is a very handsome classic red tabby who's looking for that special someone in his life. Brought in off the streets as a kitten (he was born in the summer of 2006) he's still a bit shy with new people and surroundings. But a few days of TLC and he begins to trust and blossom. He adores snuggling in cat "condos" but never objects when his care-givers reach in to take him out and hug him. She has been spayed and is up-to-date on age appropriate shots. ADOPTED to a "forever" home.
"Willy"
Meet "Willy." If you only look skin deep, Willy won't win any prizes. This pure white domestic short hair was probably a 'head turner" in his youth, but at 13 years of age his hair is thinning and time is taking its toll as it is on us all. But the worst toll time took, was the death of Willy's owner. Now poor Willy is looking for that special someone who will give him a second chance at a happy home. Willy loves people, is a true lap cat, and has an endearing habit of patting your leg when he wants you to pick him up and hug him. Willy is declawed and is a truly gentle soul. However, as gentle as he is, he has a wonderful loud "MEOW". Willy has a slight thyroid condition for which he's being treated with a 1/2 tablet of tapizol daily. He takes it with no complaint. I adore people and belly rubs. I even like other cats. Because I'm such a gentle soul, my care-givers believe I'll do well with children. I love cat-nip toys and, my favorite place to sleep, is the bathroom sink in my foster home. I'm somewhere between 4 and 5 years old so I've got many more years of love to give.
